In class we discussed how a family's socioeconomic status has a large impact on kid’s education development. The fact that Sesame Street initiated with the purpose of providing every child from every socioeconomic status, specifically those from minority and low income families, with fundamental knowledge and social skills to be prepared for preschool is now being hindered with it’s shift to HBO. Children from higher socioeconomic statuses whose parents can afford the extra HBO fees are at advantage once again! We need to take into account that all children’s education is extremely important and should be prioritized.
